Fuzziekiss — "FLASH, BANG, POP."
September 30, 2026 · Eric Peters, DIRXECP
Full production brief for Fuzziekiss' debut single — concept, locations, schedule, cast and crew, gear, and the ideas behind each setup across the two-day shoot.

Project Overview
Artist: Fuzziekiss
Track: "FLASH, BANG, POP." — mastered WAV delivered ahead of shoot; single release timed to follow the video
Style: Early 2000s camcorder-style rap video — club shots, candid in-between moments, old school feel
Production: DIRXECP — Eric Peters, Director/DOP
The Vision
When Fuzziekiss reached out about his first music video, the brief was simple: make it feel like a lost tape from 2003. No polish, no gloss, just the grainy, candid energy of old camcorder footage and a crowd of friends who don't know they're being filmed.
The reference point was clear from the start: 1nonly-style club shots, loose choreography of bodies in a crowd, low-fi lighting, single artist featured throughout. Fuzziekiss brought in a handful of additional references too, each for a specific reason — pacing from one video, VFX treatments on paintings and windows from another, car scenes and light builds in a shipping container from a third. We pulled pieces from each into one treatment built around his song "FLASH, BANG, POP."
Locations
Location | Address / Access | Use |
Highrise Balcony | Downtown Winnipeg | Wide establishing shots, both rivers in frame, natural light |
Shipping Container Yard | Private yard, after-hours only | Hero/performance shots, car scene, FPV coverage; backup/alt: Decon's Corner |
Select Start Arcade Restolounge | 110 Market Ave, 2nd floor | Club/crowd scene — neon, arcade cabinets, candid performance coverage |
Downtown Winnipeg (street) | Public street | Comedic insert — Preston walking a poodle on an oversized chain |

Day One — Schedule & Coverage
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM — Highrise Balcony (390 Assiniboine Ave)
Wide establishing shots overlooking both rivers, raw concrete interior, natural light. The idea here was to open the video on something that feels elevated and cinematic before dropping into grittier territory — a deliberate contrast with the container yard later that night.
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM — Shipping Container Yard
After-hours access via production contact. This location drove the whole early-2000s, lived-in tone: hard shadows, stacked steel, nothing polished. We staged a car-scene sequence in the aisle between containers to mirror one of Fuzziekiss' reference videos almost shot-for-shot. FPV coverage ran on the Spydr ITSY-EVO with a DJI O4 Pro — low, fast passes threading between the stacks that give the sequence a sense of scale and motion no handheld rig could match.
Day Two — Schedule & Coverage
Noon – 4:00 PM — Select Start Arcade Restolounge (110 Market Ave, 2nd floor)
This was the centerpiece of the whole shoot. Everything about the treatment pointed toward one scene: a real room, real people, loose and candid — not choreographed, not posed. Select Start's neon and arcade cabinets gave us a built-in Tokyo street-crowd look without needing to dress a set. Ten extras filled the room across multiple spots inside the venue, with Preston moving through the crowd for performance coverage mixed in with unposed, in-between moments — laughing, talking, drinks in hand, shot camcorder-style to keep the energy loose rather than directed.
Downtown Winnipeg (street)
The day closed with a gag that came together almost as an afterthought and became a favorite on set: Preston walking a small poodle on an oversized chain through downtown, played completely deadpan. It's a tone-break beat, shot separately from the club block,
meant to land as a cut-in during the edit rather than live inside the main narrative.

Lighting philosophy leans on practical and ambient light over rigged setups — hard shadows in the container yard, neon/screen light at Select Start, and natural light spill on the balcony — to keep the lived-in, slightly rough camcorder feel throughout.
